Knapweeds belong to the Asteraceae family. There are approximately 500 species. They are annual, biennial, or often perennial herbs or plants that grow to between 20 and 300 cm in height and form rhizomes. They bloom in white, yellow, pink, purple, or blue. A well-known centaury is the cornflower. Insect-friendly.
