- annual plant - requires growing medium, warm and full sun location with loose, sandy, low peat soil (germination temperature 22-25 degrees, 14-30 days). - Flowers open only a short time during the day and self-pollinate - Fruit stalks develop and incline into the ground, where fruits then reach maturity within 180-200 days. When the plant wilts, it is ready for harvest. IMPORTANT: let the harvested fruits dry well in an airy, not too warm place for one or two weeks before breaking the fruit shells. The ripe nuts must be dried with the thin shell in the oven at 120-160 degrees for 20min before eating!
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Place the seeds in water for 24 hours beforehand to increase their germination capacity. Use potting compost when propagating, place on a warm radiator. The plant does not need to be fertilized or pruned. For planting in a container, clay substrate can be used to loosen the soil.
