Phacelia, also known as blue tansy, is a popular green manure crop for fallow land and a favorite food source for bees. Native to the southwestern United States, this prairie plant is well suited to poor soils. For rapid greening of open areas and to combat soil erosion, blue-violet flowers that are very popular with bees and bumblebees. Botanical name Phacelia tanacetifolia Annual, can be sown from March to September, flowers from early June to late September, usually freezes back in winter. Growth height 50 to 100 cm depending on soil
