Description
Sow from March to May, fast germinator, temperature around 20° Celsius, in seed trays, then prick out. Undemanding perennial. Suitable for sunny locations, cut flowers, and flower beds. Bee plant.

Growing tips
The globe thistle develops blue flower heads up to 4 cm in size, which adorn the summer border for many weeks. The species is undemanding and copes well with stony, poor soil, but does not like damp, shady locations. It can spread in the garden by self-seeding, but does not become an unpleasant weed (like some other thistle species).
