The miracle flower is an annual or perennial herbaceous plant that can grow up to 90 cm, sometimes even up to 2 m high. It forms root tubers as survival organs. However, it is not hardy. The coloration of the funnel-shaped flowers can vary greatly on the same plant. Between white, pink, red and yellow, also different color transitions are possible. Hence the name miracle flower called. The flowers also convince with their pleasant, slightly sweet fragrance.
Herkunft:
The miracle flower comes from Central America, probably from Mexico.
For faster germination, roughen the seeds the day before with sandpaper and soak them in chamomile tea. But be careful with children and pets, the seeds are poisonous. The tubers (also poisonous) can be dug up in the fall after all above-ground parts of the plant have died, stored in sand and also used for new growth in the spring.
