Description

Achocha, also called caigua, Inca cucumber or horned squash is a very undemanding ancient vegetable plant. The small but numerous fruits can be harvested about the size of an olive and enjoyed raw on salads, as a vegetable or pickled. They can also be stuffed and eaten stewed in cucumber size. The Inca cucumber is an ancient Peruvian useful and medicinal plant, also known as the shaman cucumber because it was used for healing ceremonies.

Pre-culture from April (2 cm sowing depth), plant young plants outdoors. Space the plants approx. 1-2 m apart. Loves loose, compost-rich soil.
