Description

Gele Reuzen or yellow centner. High yielding. Very large, yellow, ribbed and storable fruit. Few pits and lots of flesh. Good taste, few calories and many vitamins. Preserving variety.

Non hybrid

Not frost resistant

Growing tips

From April in trays or cold frames and in mid-late May in situ. Germination after 7-14 days at 18-22°C. Place 2 seeds in a planting hole, cover with soil to seed size, press down and keep moist. The strongest plant is cultivated further. Do not damage the roots when planting out. Fertilize and water regularly. Good for the compost heap. A board or other support under the ripening fruit prevents rotting. For large fruits, leave only 2-3 fruits on the plant and pinch out the tendrils.
