Primrose is a very decorative flowering meadow flower and at the same time the most medicinally effective species among the primrose family. Primula veris, unlike some of its relatives, is not poisonous and is used in the form of tea preparations as a medicinal plant for colds and gout. It is also a well-known remedy as an ingredient in cough syrup.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
The seeds are best sown thinly on the spot or in seed trays in the fall. They need the cold to germinate and are therefore cold-germinating plants. The clump-growing plants need a planting distance of approx. 25 cm. They self-seed well and are therefore ideal for wild planting. Propagation is also possible by dividing the rhizomes.
