Description

Bamberger Hörnchen is an old Franconian local variety, also known in this region as "Bamberger Hörnla" or "Bamberger Hörnle". Medium-early to medium-late variety. Its typical finger-shaped tubers can only be grown and harvested with painstaking manual labor. Intensely spicy and nutty flavor. 150-170 days of ripening. Since October 2013, Bamberger Hörnchen have been protected by the EU as a regional brand under the term "protected geographical indication" (PGI).
