Proven variety. Long, dark green-light green striped fruits. Whitish, firm flesh. Robust and high yielding. Also in cold, wet weather. Vine-less. Harvest until first frost. Can be stored for up to 12 weeks.
Non hybrid
Germination after 7-14 days at 18-22°C. Harden off before planting out. Likes warm, sheltered locations. Sensitive to frost. Several plants can pollinate each other. Harvest regularly (from 16 cm) so that new fruits are continuously formed. Fertilize and water regularly. Observe crop rotation. Home-grown zucchini seeds are strongly discouraged because they can produce the toxic bitter substance cucurbitacin. Mixed cultivation with borage promotes pollination. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can cross-pollinate, making zucchinis bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to so-called curcurbitacins).
