Description

White zucchini with a pronounced flavor. Originates from Sicily. Early ripening. High yield. Incredibly tender when very young (ø 2 cm). Soft skin with crunchy flesh. Open growth. Germination after 6-14 days at 22-26°C.

Heavy yielder, for more yield, harvest fruit young. Harden off before planting out. Likes warm, sheltered locations. Sensitive to frost. Several plants can pollinate each other. Harvest regularly to ensure that new fruits continue to form. Fertilize and water regularly. Observe crop rotation. Home-grown zucchini seeds are strongly discouraged because they can produce the toxic bitter substance cucurbitacin. Mixed cultivation with borage promotes pollination. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can cross-pollinate, making zucchinis bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to so-called curcurbitacins).
