F1 hybrid. Golden yellow, elongated fruits. Delicate, fruity to mildly aromatic flavor. Bushy growth, non-climbing and high yielding. Suitable for outdoor, cold frame & greenhouse. Resistant to powdery mildew. Germination after 8-14 days at 18-22°C. Do not eat bitter tasting fruits!
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
Harvest fruits young at 20-25 cm long. Older fruits lose flavor. Cool temperatures during the flowering period can cause rotting and low fruit set. However, the plants will recover as soon as it gets warmer again. Roots are sensitive to injury and drying out. We therefore recommend growing in pots (1-2 seeds per pot) and planting out with root balls. Do not prick out! Harden off before planting out. Likes warm, sheltered locations. Sensitive to frost. Several plants pollinate each other. Harvest regularly to ensure that new fruits continue to form. Fertilize and water regularly. Observe crop rotation. Home-grown zucchini seeds are strongly discouraged because they can produce the toxic bitter substance cucurbitacin. Mixed cultivation with borage promotes pollination. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can cross-pollinate, making zucchinis bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to so-called curcurbitacins).
