Alte Sorte aus dem Rheintal, die auch in rauem Klima ausreift. Der Mais ist für die Herstellung von Ribel, Polenta, Maissuppe, Maisbrot und Maisschnitten. Er bildet schöne Kolben mit gelben Körnern.
