Description

The strawberry delicacy "Mieze Schindler" has existed since 1925 and was named by the breeder after his wife as a declaration of love. Its medium-sized, dark red fruits have a particularly delicate, intense aroma. Strongly dark red fruits that taste like blackberries. They are a real rarity. Late fruiting, long harvest time. Exclusively female flowers, so it needs at least one other strawberry variety for fertilization, as the "Kitty Schindler" is self-sterile.

Growing tips

Strawberries are usually planted as young plants and subsequently propagated by runners, but it is also possible to propagate them by seed, especially month strawberries can only be propagated by seed or by dividing the cane. Strawberries grow best in deep, loose and humus-rich soil, as they are prone to disease if water stagnates. They also like a sunny position. Young plants can be planted from spring to fall, but July or August is best for garden strawberries and mid-May is recommended for monthly strawberries. When planting, the heart of the plant with the young shoots must not be under the soil.
