Old variety, brings large, closed, firm, white cobs with yellowish-greenish tips. Roots are harvested in the fall, and then turned in to form the cob, so the chicory sprouts harvest is possible from the beginning of November.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
If possible, use nitrogen-poor, deep soil in a sunny location (if the nitrogen content of the soil is too high, the beets will be too large and will only form loose heads when sprouting). Germination after approx. 1 week at approx. 16°C. Optimum soil temperature towards the end of the season 15°C and air temperature approx. 11°C. Harvest beets from mid-September with an optimum beet diameter of 3-5 cm, remove leaves, leave only the heart (2 cm). Stack the roots in a cool room for storage and protect them from drying out. Forcing with potting compost from mid-October: Place the roots in a container approx. 30-40 cm deep, cover with moist sand, soil or peat (unpopular) and place in a dark room at approx. 15-20°C. Water forcing is also possible. Water forcing is also possible. Forcing time approx. 3-5 weeks.
