Said to have been cultivated by indigenous peoples of North America and one of the oldest cultivated pumpkin varieties. Vining. High yielding. Dark green, teardrop-shaped, ribbed fruits. Approximately 1 kg in weight. Creamy-orange, slightly nutty, rather dry flesh. When the spot where the squash flares turns orange, it is ripe. Can be stored for up to 3 months. Good for roasting. Peel is edible.
