Old, American, medium-sized variety with orange, roundish fruits, pointed at both ends, weighing 2-6 kg and with a very long shelf life. Grows climbing. There are 2 varieties of 'Golden Hubbard', one with smooth and one with wrinkled skin. The fine-pored, nutty-sweet tasting, orange flesh is wonderful for cakes and desserts, but also for hearty soups and oven dishes. The skin remains hard even when cooked (so peel, strain or scoop out!). Classic variety for pumpkin pie. Germination after 7-14 days at 12-24°C.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Fertilize and water regularly. Harvest before the first frost. Protect from snails at the beginning after planting. Observe a cultivation break of 3 years.
