The high-yielding, medium-late variety is robust and forms 4-8 medium-sized grains in the pod. These remain green and tender when cooked. It can be used very well as a preceding crop. This variety can grow up to 120cm high.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Early sowing of the broad bean is important and unproblematic due to the black bean aphid; temperatures down to -3 °C are tolerated. It thrives best in medium to heavy soil. Pre-cultivation is possible in a pot, and from February it can also be sown directly outdoors. Sow the seeds to a depth of about 5 cm, spaced 15 x 50 cm apart. Press down gently and cover with sufficient soil. Germination: 10-20 days at 5-20 °C. This variety can grow up to 120cm high. Mounding soil on the stems at a growth height of about 15cm supports stability. Do not allow to dry out. Broad beans supply themselves with nitrogen thanks to the bacteria living on their roots. They are therefore well suited to improving the soil and should only be fertilized sparingly. Ready for harvesting from June, depending on sowing time. Ripe beans are clearly distinguished by their green pods and are soft. Further cultivation tips for the type field bean.
