Description

Rich and vigorous cherry tomato with dark red-brown fruits (15-25g). The taste of these small crisp tomatoes is wonderfully aromatic, fruity-sweet with a subtle sour note. The coloration of the tomatoes changes from green to dark purple-red, mahogany to black-purple as they ripen. The violet-red flesh shimmers through the transparent skin. The pleasantly soft fruits have a firm skin, are burst and cut resistant and therefore also good for use as small salad tomatoes.

Non hybrid

Not frost resistant

Growing tips

Do not sow tomatoes too early. For the home garden, the end of March/beginning of April is sufficient. Germination temperature should be 24°C, germination period 10-14 days. 'Black Cherry' is a vigorous, strongly branching vine tomato that can easily reach 2-3 m in height (indeterminate form). It is recommended to grow the plant on 3 shoots. Good mass bearer! The best protection against late blight is a roof over the plants. Regular pruning and lifting. Further cultivation tips for the species Cocktail pole tomato.
