Long, green, striped fruits. Medium-late fruit set. Especially for hobby cultivation. Undemanding. Proven. Not climbing. Also suitable for containers. Germination after 7-14 days at 18-22°C.
Non hybrid
Harden off before planting out. Protect from snails when direct sowing. Likes warm, sheltered locations. Sensitive to frost. Several plants can pollinate each other. Harvest regularly so that new fruits continue to form. Fertilize and water regularly. Observe crop rotation. Home-grown zucchini seeds are strongly discouraged because they can produce the toxic bitter substance cucurbitacin. Mixed cultivation with borage promotes pollination. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can cross-pollinate, making zucchinis bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to so-called curcurbitacins). Throw away bitter-tasting fruit completely.
