Non-climbing, open growth, abundant, early fruit set. Long, cylindrical, slightly curved fruits with delicate, light marbling. Fine and tasty. Medium early.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Sow about 2-3 weeks before planting out, i.e. not before April. Harden off before planting out. Likes warm, sheltered locations. Sensitive to frost. Several plants can pollinate each other. Harvest regularly to ensure that new fruits continue to form. Fertilize and water regularly. Observe crop rotation. Home-grown zucchini seeds are strongly discouraged because they can produce the toxic bitter substance cucurbitacin. Mixed cultivation with borage promotes pollination. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can cross-pollinate, making zucchinis bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to so-called curcurbitacins).
