F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
Taste best when harvested young and tender. Pick early. Do not allow fruits to grow longer than 20 cm, this promotes the growth of new fruits. Sensitive to damage to the roots during planting and to drying out of the root ball. Harden off before planting out. Likes warm, sheltered locations. Sensitive to frost. Several plants pollinate each other. Fertilize and water regularly. Observe crop rotation. Home-grown zucchini seeds are strongly discouraged because they can produce the poisonous bitter substance cucurbitacin. Mixed cultivation with borage promotes pollination. Pumpkins and zucchinis of the same species can cross-pollinate, making zucchinis bitter and inedible or poisonous (due to so-called curcurbitacins).
