This variety produces large, yellow-green, firm, almost bitter-free heads. Root harvest possible from October, chicory harvest from the cellar / dark from late November / December until spring.

Harvest the root for forcing from October (frost hardy to -5°C) and cut off the foliage about 3 to 5 cm above the root. Pile the roots for storage (min. 1 week dormancy) in a cool room/sand and protect from drying out. Sprouting: Starting in November/December in a large flower pot with moist sand. A flower pot turned upside down as a lid. It should be dark and warm (12-18°C), then the more or less large buds will grow. Tip: If sown too early, or given too much standing space, the roots sometimes become too large; they can then be shortened to be able to set them in the forcing containers, but often form many small secondary buds when forcing. In addition, if the seed is sown too early, more shoots appear whose roots are unsuitable for forcing. If sown too late, or too closely, there are many small roots that are hardly worth the effort of forcing.
