Description

Golden Eye forms juicy, yellow balls that taste pleasantly fruity, mildly earthy and sweeter than beet. Their golden-yellow color is a feast for the eyes and does not stain too much. The beets are uniformly shaped, highly round and smooth-skinned.

Non hybrid

Not frost resistant

Growing tips

Beet germinates after approx. 12-20 days at 10-20°C. Sensitive to night frosts. Water regularly. Medium feeder, avoid over-fertilization. If necessary, separate to a distance of 10 cm in the row to ensure better development. Harvest approx. 3-4 months after sowing. Baby beds already after 5-6 weeks. Can be stored in a cool, frost-proof cellar. Best sowing for storage crops May/June. Tip: The nitrate content is reduced if the beets are lifted with a digging fork in the morning without tearing all the roots and harvested at midday.
