Description

Yellow or white mustard is an annual green manure plant. It develops quickly, covers the soil quickly and intensively roots the topsoil. Favorable green manure plant, if not too many cruciferous plants are grown. Serves as insect food. Height about 100 cm.

Non hybrid

Not frost resistant

Growing tips

Can be grown indoors from March before the ice saints if the mustard seeds are to be harvested. Can also be sown broadly, approx. 4 g per m^2, approx. 1-2 cm deep. Suitable for all soils. Keep seed well moist. When the pods rattle, they are ready to harvest. The first leaves for slate or similar can be harvested after approx. 3 weeks. Contributes to soil health by combating plant-damaging nematodes and loosening the soil with its roots. Yellow mustard can also be left standing in the fall. The foliage freezes off in winter so that the plant remains can simply be buried in spring. However, the seeds should be harvested in the fall so that you do not run the risk of the yellow mustard reseeding. Do not grow with other cruciferous plants.
