Planting
Kohlrabi is a fast-growing spring vegetable from the cruciferous family. The above-ground tuber is a thickening of the shoot axis. There are many varieties that differ in color (green, white, purple), shape (oval, round, platy), size, duration of cultivation and time of cultivation.
Origin:
Northern and Eastern Europe
Due to its short cultivation period, kohlrabi is a good pre-, inter- and post-crop. Uniform water supply is important for good tuber formation. Drought or uneven moisture promotes lignification. You should maintain a 3-4 year growing interval to other cruciferous crops. Harvesting extends over a few weeks, as not all tubers mature at the same time.
