Growing tips

You should start pre-sowing about 6-8 weeks before sowing. The seedlings can then be sown in the greenhouse from January to March and outdoors from mid-March to the end of July. In the greenhouse, you can then harvest approximately 80 days after sowing (i.e. early April to mid-May), outdoors from around mid-May to early November. Sowing fennel directly is not a good idea, as this can lead to growth arrest and early flowering. After harvesting, the tubers can be stored in the fridge for a few days. This must be fairly cool, preferably just above freezing and with a high relative humidity, otherwise there is a risk of drying out.
