This perennial, deciduous shrub grows to between 40 and 50 centimeters high and 40 centimeters wide. It is vigorous and sometimes crowds out other herbs with its runners. It has a pleasant, fruity lemon scent.
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
To ensure compact growth, cut the lemon mint back close to the ground in early spring at the latest. At the same time, give it a dose of compost to encourage budding. However, too much nitrogen "dilutes" the aroma. Especially in summer, potted plants should always be kept well watered. Winter protection is not necessary for specimens planted in the garden. However, potted lemon mint will survive the cold season better with a fleece around the container and placed against a wall.
