Very shoot-resistant selection from ReinSaat with firm, densely filled, highly rounded, slightly pointed heads with a high yellow content. Tender, fantastically sweet leaves with a slightly bitter note. A fine chicory lettuce for fall and winter with a slightly more delicate flavor than endive. Tolerates light frost.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Do not direct sow before mid-June, otherwise risk of bolting. Not suitable for forcing. A wind-protected, sunny location with deep (due to taproot), humus-rich soil is preferred, but generally undemanding. Does not need to be pre-germinated. Germination after approx. 8 days at 20-25°C. Sowing soil is recommended. Separate after 4 weeks at the latest. Protect from cold when young to prevent sprouting. Remove weeds regularly. Withstands light frost, but do not overwinter outdoors. Stores well until January/February. Cultivation period approx. 90 days.
