Beschreibung

The sunflower is an annual plant of the composite family that grows up to 3 m high. With its hairy flower stalk and a strong taproot, it is relatively drought resistant. The flowering period extends from August to September. The flower always turns towards the sun - hence its name. Varieties differ in height of growth, color of the flower and filling with seeds.

Anbautipps

Sunflowers can be sown directly or grown in advance in plant pots. They have high water and light requirements. In strong winds, the plants tend to bend, so plant them in a place protected from the wind or provide them with a support to which you tie them.
