Beschreibung

Lovage - also called Maggi herb - is a perennial culinary herb (up to 6 years) from the umbelliferae family. The dried seeds and leaves are used as a spice. Essential oils can be extracted from the root for medicinal use. Individual stems can grow 1-2 m high in summer.

Lovage likes a bright, sunny location, deep, humus soil and needs quite a lot of nutrients. In addition, lovage has a high water requirement, but does not tolerate waterlogging. In spring the plant becomes bushy, in summer it forms stems that can grow up to 2 m high.
