Nasturtium is an annual climbing plant. It belongs to the nasturtium family. Some plants can reach a length of up to 3 meters. However, there are also some varieties that grow more bushy. The shield-shaped leaves have a slightly pungent taste. The flowers of the nasturtium can vary from bright yellow to orange to red.
Herkunft:
The nasturtium has its origin in Central and South America.
You can pre-grow the seeds on the windowsill from March. You can start direct sowing in May. It is important to wait until after the last frost. Place the rows at least 30 cm apart from each other, as the cress will spread rapidly later on. The first seedlings can be seen approx. 15 days after sowing. To ensure that the nasturtium flowers abundantly, choose a sunny location. It thrives best in loose soil. Choose a suitable variety for you. Depending on the space, there are small to large climbing plants. You can let the ends of the vines climb up a climbing support or let them hang down from a pot.
