Spinach belongs to the goosefoot family. It has a very short growing season, making it ideal as a first or second crop. There are around 50 varieties of spring and winter spinach with different shapes, colors, and textures. The Winterriesen variety of spinach can be sown and harvested twice a year. Sowing in March-April and August-October. Harvest in May-June and October-January.
Non hybrid
Spinach can be sown either in spring from March to May or as winter spinach in mid-September. After sowing, a sufficient water supply and weed control is necessary.
