Asia lettuces are a variety of leafy vegetables that originate from the Asian region. They can be resown every 14 days and harvested after only 3 weeks like cut lettuce. Asian lettuces often taste similar to arugula due to their high content of spicy mustard oils, but there are also mild ones like cabbage. The lettuce can be prepared raw as a salad or steamed in stir-fry. The seeds are sown broadly and then later thinned out. Varied in taste. Especially suitable for harvesting in the winter months or as a mixed component for salads with a wild touch. Composition: Green in Snow, Red Giant, Mizuna and Moutarde Rouge Metis.
F1 Hybrid
Frostproof
Asian salads are very easy to cultivate all year round and fit into the smallest balcony box. The optimum sowing time in the home garden is from March to September. Asian salads can be grown all year round on a covered balcony or in an unheated greenhouse. In the open, soil fleas can become a problem. Always keep the soil well moist and loosen it. The fresh Asian lettuce leaves add a delicious, spicy note to any salad, but are also very suitable as a soup garnish, steamed or stir-fried. Frost-hardy down to -10°C. Good for picking, as the large-leaved Red Giant variety matures a little more slowly.
