The fruits of the F1 hybrid Sumher are slender, tapered and twisted. They are 20-30 cm long and change color from green to red when ripe. Green fruits are spicy and aromatic. The fully ripe, red fruits are hotter and have a heat level of 3 to 4 (approx. 2000 Scoville). (Kiepenkerl)
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
Germination in 14-21 days at 20-25°C. In addition to outdoor cultivation, container cultivation is also possible. Cultivation period: approx. 24-26 weeks. Growing height: 80-100 cm. Peppers should be grown in nutrient-rich soil in a sunny location. For a rich harvest, the first flower (terminal bud/'king flower') should be broken off. This promotes flower and fruit formation on the side shoots. Pull the plants with 3-4 shoots and remove the remaining shoots. In Central Europe, cultivation is usually annual, but the highest yield is only achieved 2-3 years after planting. To achieve this, the plant must be overwintered indoors. The fruit is harvested from July to September, depending on the variety and weather conditions.
