Description

Annual plant needs a lot of heat and a long growing season. Therefore, it should be grown indoors. It is sensitive to frost and therefore can be put outdoors only after the last night frosts. Its shoots and flowers are edible and can be harvested at any time.

Growing tips

Aniseed does not need any additional fertilization. In unfavorable conditions with cold, wet weather, the seeds may not ripen. The temperature determines the growing season for aniseed and the seeds only ripen when it is warm enough. The essential oils of the anise plant deter aphids and cabbage white butterflies, so they are well suited as neighbors in a mixed culture.
