Description

This sweet summer pea is suitable for snacking and freezing. It allows a long harvest time, because it can be sown in sets from early April to mid-July. The sturdy plants are about 60-80cm high. The variety is highly tolerant to powdery mildew and fusarium wilt (race 1).

Growing tips

Peas like well-drained, moist, warm soil. The seeds are sown in furrows about 5 cm deep. Once the young plants are about 20 cm high, they are mounded up to increase their stability. Cultivation breaks of 5 to 6 years prevent the excessive proliferation of fungi that cause foot and burn spot diseases, for example. Waterlogging and drought lead to the shedding of flowers and fruits. Peas live in symbiosis with nodule bacteria and therefore require little nitrogen fertilizer. The subsequent crops also benefit from the nitrogen collected.
