Hardy. Uniform, thick, medium-length, firm shanks. Thick-fleshed, dark, blue-green leaves. Yielding. With late sowing and planting dates, can be harvested as late as early May, just before flowering. Germination after 15-20 days at 16-20°C.

Sunny or partial shade place. Needs abundant fertilization. The numerous roots aerate the soil, buried crop residues make it valuable for soil health. Plant out 4-6 weeks after emergence. Harden off beforehand if necessary. In very cold temperatures in winter, possibly cover with a fleece.
