Description

Katrin carrot variety is a fast-growing, orange and early variety with relatively short (11-13 cm long, or longer depending on the time of harvest), conical carrots with blunt ends and without green shoulders. Chantenay species.

Non hybrid

Not frost resistant

Growing tips

Germination in 4-14 days at 8-14°C. Sow very thinly to avoid thinning out later. It is best to mix the seed with a handful of sand and scatter in rows. Always keep well moist. Carrots like sandy, well-drained soil. Do not fertilize too much, otherwise the carrots will develop a lot of small hair roots. The first roots can be harvested in bunches as early as May, the last in August. The carrot "Katrin" can also be sown under cover late in the fall (November - October) for the spring harvest.
