Description

Early, cylindrical F1 hybrid of the Nantaise type with a sweet taste. Resistant to the carrot fly (as the name suggests). The carrot fly prefers other carrot varieties, but if eggs are laid on this variety, the larvae die fairly quickly after germination and damage is minimal. Gives glossy orange carrots of approx. 18 cm. Small heart-shaped core, very high yield with good storage life.

Growing tips

Germination in 4-14 days at 8-14°C. Carrots prefer deep, loose soil with a high humus content and a good supply of nutrients. Early and summer carrots should be sown as early as possible from mid-February, as germination at 5°C takes up to 45 days. The seedlings grow very slowly and need a lot of attention at the beginning so that they are not overgrown by weeds. It is a good idea to sow a row of radishes next to each row of carrots as marker seed. After germination, the seedlings should be thinned out.
