Description

The somewhat different Brussels sprout. As the name suggests, this Brussels sprout forms beautiful, visually striking, red, florets. The vitamin-rich florets have a nutty-mild taste and go particularly well with meat or fish dishes as a vegetable garnish. The variety is very productive, with sturdy growth. The coloration of the florets is intensified by cooler temperatures in autumn and winter.

Growing tips

It can be sown outdoors from April. Sowing depth should be approx. 0.5-1cm. A row spacing of 50 x 50 cm is required. As Brussels sprouts are heavy eaters, they need a sunny to semi-shady, sheltered location. A humus-rich, nutrient-rich, loamy soil is ideal. The soil should be deeply loosened and enriched with garden compost and grit. The plants should be kept permanently moist and mounded up in early summer for greater stability.
