Professor Wohltmann is an old German variety with good flavor. Oval, medium-sized, red tubers with white flesh. Late variety. High-yielding, thrives even in heavy soils and in wet years, also tolerates drought, has good resistance to late blight and scab. Suitable for baking, jacket and mashed potatoes. The cooking type can vary somewhat, rather mealy.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Has been the best variety under straw for me so far (makes harvesting easier) and has also survived the cold, damp summer of 2021 well. Keep frost-free.
