Description

Root with mild flavor. Skin white, collar purple. Very productive storage vegetable. Beets can be made into "sour beets" like sauerkraut. The tender leaves can be used as stalk mush.

Growing tips

Sow from mid-July to mid-August in rows 30 cm apart. Thin out later plants to 15-20cm. Turnips are well suited as a catch crop for early vegetables. Harvest in September to November.
