A sensational new variety from Oregon State University (OSU), also known as 'Osu Blue P20'. This variety produces many dark, round to flat-round, larger (4-5 cm) cocktail tomatoes with a spicy sweet taste. When ripe, the fruits change color from green to black-blue-violet to red-violet-blue. In the fall, even dark purple ripe fruits are soft and ready to eat (somewhat cold-tolerant). The approx. 2m high pole tomato forms few stingy shoots and bears from the end of July in the greenhouse and from mid-August outdoors. Fruit panicles approx. 30-40cm long.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
OSU Blue prefers a sheltered, sunny spot in a covered outdoor area or greenhouse, but can also be grown in a container on a covered balcony/terrace. The plant should be thinned out regularly to ensure good growth. Further growing tips for the species Cocktail vine tomato.
