Description

Rather early variety that ripens from lilac, purple, dark pink to red. The bushy plants grow to a height of 60-70 cm. The fruits are conical, approx. 10 cm long, up to 150 g, thick-fleshed (6-8 mm) and have a spicy, crunchy, sweet taste. High-yielding despite compact growth, fruits are rather medium-sized despite the misleading name. Ripening time 75-80 days after planting.

Non hybrid

Not frost resistant

Growing tips

Germination in 14-21 days at 22-25°C. Prick out from the 1st - 2nd pair of true leaves. Harden off before planting out. Peppers should be grown in nutrient-rich soil in a sunny location. For a rich harvest, the first flower (terminal bud/'king flower') should be broken out. This promotes flower and fruit formation on the side shoots. Pull the plants with 3-4 shoots and remove the remaining shoots. In Central Europe, cultivation is usually annual, but the highest yield is only achieved 2-3 years after planting. To achieve this, the plant must be overwintered indoors. The fruits are harvested from July to September, depending on the variety and weather conditions.
