Description

Variety of a family from the Locarno area who have been propagating this tomato for generations. Red, large, juicy, fleshy beef tomato with few seeds and tender flesh. Not susceptible to blossom end rot, even in hot summers and when grown in pots. Tends to form stigmas at the end of the flower. Rather late ripening.

Growing tips

Sow at the beginning of March in a warm place in seed trays. When the first true leaves have formed, prick out the young plants in pots. The seedlings can be planted a little deeper. Plant out from May 20 at a distance of 60-80 cm. Tie up on stakes or strings and break out some side shoots (pinch out). A rain cover is recommended. Mixed cultivation tip: basil and parsley.
