Description

The 'Striped Oxheart' tomato is a beautiful, heart-shaped, orange-pink oxheart tomato. The flesh of the heart-shaped tomato is beautifully yellow-pink marbled. Its taste is sweet, fruity and spicy and it has a soft skin. You should therefore grow them under a rain canopy or in a greenhouse. The size of the fruits of this old tomato variety can vary from 4-15 cm. The yield of the plants is early from mid-July and can last until the end of September. The plants grow large, up to 2 m high and have few stingy shoots. Due to the high heat requirement, cultivation in a greenhouse is recommended. Fruits weigh 200-300g.

Non hybrid

Not frost resistant

Growing tips

Sow in March to early April in seed trays indoors. Germination at 15-28°C in 10-14 days, often longer for older varieties. Prick out the small plants into pots approx. 3 weeks after sowing, plant out in the open from mid-May (after the last frost) at a distance of 80 x 60 cm. Guide the plants up on sticks or strings and regularly break out the side shoots. Water generously and fertilize regularly. Tomato ripening hoods bring the harvest forward and protect against bad weather.
