Description

Valencia is a high-growing beef tomato from Spain. It is orange, has juicy flesh and a fairly firm, smooth skin. Its fruits weigh between 200g and 500g and have a very sweet and fruity taste. The fruits are quite different, most of them are rather round, but some are also more elongated and some are somewhat flattened. Valencia can also cope in somewhat cooler regions, although its yield is then not quite as high. Should be grown under cover. Height approx. 1.6-2.0m. Old variety, heirloom.

Growing tips

Valencia tomatoes can be grown indoors, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimum germination temperature is between 20 and 25°C and germination takes place after 8 - 14 days. To speed up germination, the seeds can be pre-soaked overnight in a damp cloth. Only plant out the pre-grown plants after the last frost. Further growing tips for the pole tomato variety.
