Description

Lukullus' is a very old German commercial variety that was introduced around 1910. It originates from Rathmannsdorf near Staßfurt, was bred by Franz Staib and is the result of a cross between 'Danish Export' and 'Juwel'. The vigorous, normal-leaved plants grow to a maximum height of 200 cm. Lukullus is an early variety that only needs 50 to 60 days to ripen after fertilization. Up to 15 bright red salad tomatoes grow on opposite panicles, reach a size of 4 to 6 cm and weigh up to 80 g. This tried and tested variety has a soft, burst-resistant skin, is juicy and has a fruity, sweet and sour taste.

Growing tips

Early ripening, 55 to 69 days. Narrow growth (requires little space), also possible in containers (15-20L). It can be grown as a single shoot, but also very well in 2 to 3 shoots. It is important to ensure that you do not remove too much foliage as this increases the likelihood of the fruit forming a green collar.
