Strong, palm-like, sturdy kale. Semi-high, aromatic, tasty variety with finely curled, blue-green leaves. Westlandse Winter is a typical winter vegetable rich in vitamin C, carotene and minerals with a slightly sweet, aromatic taste. Very productive with good winter hardiness. Suitable for freezing.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Prick out after the 2nd leaf. About 6 weeks after sowing, plant out or separate at a distance of 50x50 cm. Prefers a sunny to semi-shady location and humus-rich, moist garden soil. Loosen frequently and keep evenly moist. Tip: frost improves the taste. Well suited as a catch crop on harvested beds of early potatoes, peas, beans or lettuce.
